Music Video Shoot at Diva Beach. Geisha's and Mad Hatters!
On the 14th April, I spent 12 hours shooting my music video. I produced and conceptualized the image and ideas, and worked with a great team. We had about 80 people on the shoot, from dancers, extras, actors and stylists. I had 2 weeks to get the whole thing organised on a really tight budget, from conceptualization, story board, to what I was wearing!
We shot at a nightclub in Chelsea called "Diva Beach", one of the best looking clubs in London. Not only did the location look excellent on camera, but the staff were amazing. Wayne and Angela, who are managers there, stepped in to play roles in the video, when a few people did not turn up! One minute Angela was sat on her desk looking so cute in a butter wouldn't melt way, next minute, she was a sassy rock chick with some serious attitude!! Thanks guys for stepping in.
It was a really tough day as I was non stop filming, and only ate a quarter of a sandwich all day, with 2 Starbucks coffee. I was wearing skin tight catsuits, so couldn't really eat much more!
Producing it as well as making sure people had the right style for the video, and being the artist, was tiring, but a labour of love.
Most people were on the shoot because they wanted to be there. I roped in friends to help. I do have some really influential friends, a friend of mine, Richard Austin Rees, who has his own PR and Model management company, brought with him, a few designers, lots of models and dancers, makeup artists and stylists. I asked him to be set manager for the models and co-ordinate them, which he did amazingly. I will definitely work with him again! His models and dancers were phenominal, and he managed them on set so well.
I also had an amazing lady called Pavan, who did these amazing henna tattoos on my cast. She is currently the Guiness world record holder to do the most designs in an hour! She did the whole cast in such a short time! On some photos you can see the stunning design on my arm!
Another talent, was makeup artist, Ash Kaur, who helped me bring alive the ideas I had in my head. She added her own unique twist on the style. She was my personal makeup and hair artist for the shoot, and worked well under pressure. She went from making me up as the girl next door, to a geisha! It did take me ages to get some of the face paint off, but it looked amazing!
We were lent clothes by designers, like Mayka and Core Spirit. My dancers wore Core Spirit, whilst the models wore Mayka. The idea of the shoot was eccentricism, and uniqueness, and both these designers gave me that! (with a rock attitude)
There are so many people I want to thank for helping with the shoot, and I will list them when I have all heir names, but for now, I want to say a big thankyou for all those involved who made it happen.
From Raiwood Studios, who filmed the whole thing, to Kamran Sarwar, who was our creative assistant, to Tim, who stepped in at last minute as the leading man, to the nice sandwich man made lovely sandwiches for the crew. All worked hard, and in a month we should all see the results for the world to see. We were blessed that day. All the things that went wrong, resulted in better things. There was a lot of love and talent on board this show, and shows on the final result.
Enjoy the pics.
